2025 Newsletter – Spring Edition

From the Pastor’s Desk

As we enter the season of Lent, we are reminded of the call to draw closer to God through spiritual discipline and intentional reflection. James 4:8 encourages us with this profound promise: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” This verse beautifully reflects the heart of Lent—a season to pause, seek God more fervently, and grow in our faith.

Lent is a time to embrace spiritual practices such as prayer, fasting, and Scripture meditation, allowing us to align our hearts with God’s will. In doing so, we fulfill another powerful verse, Psalm 42:1, which says, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” Let’s be inspired by these words to thirst after God’s presence in our daily lives, knowing He meets us in our seeking.

Since our last newsletter, our congregation has shared many memorable moments together! We’ve continued to strengthen our bonds through delicious and fun fellow- ship meals, including a chili cookoff, critter dinner, Souper Bowl fellowship, and meatloaf fellowship. Each event has been a testament to the joy and unity found in dining together as one body in Christ.

For Valentine’s Day, we celebrated love and commitment with a Sweethearts Night Out, enjoying a spaghetti dinner and the inspiring movie Fireproof.

In February, several of our members attended the West Virginia Baptist Convention (WVBC) annual training event and the Annual Bible Conference, where they were equipped with tools to deepen their spiritual walks and support our church family.

Looking ahead, we are excitedly preparing for a one-day mission trip to assist flood victims in West Virginia. This will be a meaningful opportunity to serve and embody Christ’s love by helping families clean out their homes and rebuild after devastating flooding.

As winter’s ice and snow have melted, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of spring and the promise of new beginnings it brings. Just as the earth begins to bloom again, let us allow our hearts to be renewed in Christ, drawing near to Him in this season. As we get closer to Resurrection Day “Easter” let us also remember the sacrifice that

Christ made for each of us, and that like the grass He didn’t remain dead but arose on the third day having victory over death, hell, and the grave.

Don’t forget to watch the calendar so that you don’t miss anything. Thank you for being part of this vibrant church family. Let’s continue to grow in faith, love, and service together.

Blessings,
Pastor Jeff
